The Kingdom of Men was a human kingdom in eastern Omelon. It was formed in 1385 DR when the human veterans of the Morning Crusade selected Ryker Dolan as their king. It dissolved in 1493 DR after the revelation of the farse that was the Church of Pelor came to light and the people lost faith in the government.

Symbols

The main coat of arms of the Kingdom of Men, as well as the royal banners, depicted a sable crown on a white and blue background.

Territory

The Kingdom was comprised of all lands east of the Iron Mountains and south of the Wastes.

History

After his victory against the Shadow Tyrant, Ryker Dolan was selected king by the human leaders of the Morning Crusade. These leaders came from cities like Heapool, Fystead, and Cuford, so offered those lands as territory for the new kingdom.

In 1405 DR, King Rodryck Dolan decreed that the state religion of the Kingdom was the Church of Pelor. Other gods were be allowed to be worshiped, but all official ceremonies would be performed in that church.

The Dolan line led the kingdom successfully for generations until it was revealed in 1492 DR that the official religion of the kingdom was a farse: worshiping an imprisoned angel instead of the god Pelor, who does not exist. Despite the efforts of Prince Petyr, the angry populace rejected the monarchy and split into independent baronies.
