The Shadow Tyrant (born Irimo Roturoth 21 Ches 1023 DR) was a powerful archlich who ruled Omelon for nearly two hundred years before his defeat by the Morning Crusade in 1385 DR. He was imprisoned beneath his Shadow Tower where he used his remaining power to communicate with the Order of Obsidian who wished to free him.

Mortal Life

Irimo was born to Adelfo and Tamara Roturoth on 21 Ches 1023 DR. His merchant parents were able to send Irimio to the Luthadel Wizard's College, where he excelled in his studies of divination, evocation, and transmutation. After graduation, he spent four years as a traveling wizard until he arrived in Shinovar, Araluen's capitol. There, he learned that the court wizard had died and a replacement was sought.

Irimo impressed the king and his court and was hired on the spot. For the next decade, he served the king well as magician and advisor. However, others in the court didn't like that he had the king's trust and began to work on discrediting him. Irimo did not how to play political games and soon found that the king still valued him as a wizard, but not as an advisor.

Resentment against the king and his court grew and Irimo's behavior did little to repair the trust. He would lock himself away in his tower, conducting strange experiments which eventually ran him down the road toward lichdom.
