Trygve Marte is a human male warlock and founding member of the Dawn Guard.
Early Life
Trygve and his twin sister, Eryka, were born on 9 Marpenoth 1460 DR in Cuford.
At the age of two, his mother died of consumption. His father took the death hard, became an alcoholic, and eventually abandoned his children. The oldest Marte child, Oryan, took over the raising of the twins.
Brother's "Death"
In 1483 DR, Trygve and his brother Oryan were hunting rabbits in the woods of Cuford when they encountered a planar zombie who managed to make its way south from The Wastes. The zombie bit Oryan, transporting him to the Beastlands.
Believing his brother to be dead, Trygve began dedicating his life to finding a way to bring his brother back to life.
Becoming a Warlock
Curious about the undead creature which took his brother, Trygve turned to libraries to gather information. Finding nothing in the libraries of Cuford, he began traveling to search for books on the topic. In 1485 DR, he found himself in Wulfa and searched the shelves of the Temple of Apus. A curious tome called The Aphotic Ruin introduced Trygve to the Unnamed One and his powers of resurrection.
Trygve continued to learn of the Unnamed One and eventually found the Church of Starry Wisdom, a group dedicated to the worship and freeing of the Unnamed One. Having attracted their attention, Trygve was approached and recruited by Fausto Pratt. Fausto became a mentor to Trygve and guided him into a pact with the Unnamed One. From the temple in Scawold, Trygve set out looking for the 999 Key Shards as part of his warlock deal.
